Verizon and T-Mobile plan to launch Motorola Android phone

Google has promised that there will be as many as 20 new Android-powered mobiles on the market by the end of the year. One of those handsets is a new Android device form Motorola. The Motorola Android device will be offered by T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.

T-Mobile is stacking its phone offerings with Android devices. T-Mobile was the first with an Android handset with the G1; it announced recently the myTouch Android handset as well.

Verizon reportedly will offer a Motorola device similar t the T-Mobile one with a touch screen and a slide-out keyboard. Android is proving to be a popular smartphone OS in part thanks to the free and open source design of the software.
