The Samsung SHW-M100S is the latest model of mobile phone manufactured by the world’s largest electronics company, Samsung Electronics. This handset is said to be the first smartphone that has been equipped with the Android 2.1 operating system or the Eclair.
What is special about the latest Android version 2.1 is that it includes latest API changes and bug fixes. It allows user to control their phones via voice recognition. Android 2.1 mobile phones pulls contacts from the user’s social networking sites to their handset, plus the application of Google Earth..
This OS also provides the user the ability to feed the messages of their multiple Gmail accounts into a single inbox. There is also the Weather App for dynamic weather updates. Android devices with the 2.1 looks better and prettier save for the interactive wallpapers. Android 2.1 also allows pictures to be viewed on a 3D wall. Five home screens are provided in the Android 2.1 phones where shortcut menus can be placed accordingly.
Incidentally, the iPhone 3G received such a warm welcome when it first hit the Korean shores and so offset this, cellular phone manufacturers have been introducing Android handsets to the country. Moreover, the Samsung SHW-M100S is said to be the colossal Samsung Electronics’ first Android gift to their country. So to lovers of smart Android phones outside the boundaries of South Korea, don’t get your hopes high just yet as this 2.1 gadget will only be available by March 2010 to South Koreans in a subscription contract with SK Telecom. No price has yet been known for Samsung SHW-M100S.
