Samsung S7550 Blue Earth solar handset spotted in wild

Someday I would love to never have to plug my phone in again. I want the thing to charge wirelessly or use solar power so it’s always ready to use when I need it. That day may be far off, but a geek can dream.

Today as close as we can get to never having to plug our smartphones in is a solar device like the Samsung GT-S7550 Blue Earth. The solar charging handset was first announced a few months back and it has finally been spied in the wild.

The Russian site Mail.ru got hands on a pre-production model of the phone and spent some time playing with it. The device sports Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 UI and is made from old water battles — recycled ones obviously. Everything about the phone is design for the eco conscious user.

I like this product ! Although most are a little pricy, these products are very cool. I love all the solar charging devices and own many. This technology is the RIGHT direction and we should all be doing our share. Not everyone can afford and/or have the room for powering their homes but we can all utilize the solar gadgets that are currently out there, with more to come.
