The numbers are in for Q3 2009 for the mobile phone industry and the most profitable handset maker was Apple with $1.6 billion in operating profits. The second place company was Nokia with $1.1 billion in operating profits.

Walmart has announced that it will be offering a $100 gift card to any shopper who buys a Blackberry next week. The offer is good for certain Blackberry devices on any network that Walmart peddles including AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

The Nokia N900 is officially shipping after several delays. The handset is powered by Maemo 5 and has a 3.5-inch screen and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Internal storage is 32GB and the handset runs the ARM Cortex A8 processor.
