Nokia Announces the 1006 mobile phone

nokia-1006_1_lowres-109x207At the recently concluded CES, Nokia has also made some official announcements about its upcoming new mobile devices for the U.S. market. Two of these mobile phones were the Nokia E63 and the previously named Supernova which is now known as the Nokia 7510. Another new phone, which we haven’t heard about since CES is the basic phone 1006. The Nokia 1006 is designed for mobile phone users who are always on the go, and need a dependable mobile device with bright color display.

The Nokia 1006 is also ergonomically designed to fit comfortable on a user’s hand and features voice memo, speakerphone and phonebook with 500 entry capacity. It also features Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, voice recorder for up to 90 seconds, integrated handsfree speakers, preloaded applications, side volume and clear keys. It also features Brew 3.1.5 software, 72 polyphonic MIDI ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers, 1 pre-loaded games, and various PIM functionality such as calculator, alarm clock, stopwatch, calendar and tip calculator.

For its technical features, the Nokia 1006 also got some great features to brag about. The Nokia 1006’s specs include a 128×160 TFT display, 8MB internal messaging, SMS with predictive text, Bluetooth 2.0, 2.5 mm headset jack, and microUSB display. In addition you can also surf the internet through WAP browsing. The Nokia 1006 gives out 3.5 hours talk time and 10 days standby time. It is a CDMA 1x, 800/1900MHz, 1700/2100 AWS phone.

The Nokia 1006 will be available anytime this Quarter in blue, silver and red colors. No words on official pricing yet though. Although since it is a basic phone, chances are you get to spend too much for this mobile phone. [source]
