LG and Microsoft Will Continue to Work Together

LG LogoMicrosoft and LG have signed an agreement that will keep the two companies collaborating on smartphones.According to a statement from LG:
“The agreement ensures continued strategic collaboration in R&D, marketing, applications, and services in the field of converged mobile devices.”
LG has been a Windows Mobile licensee for some time, but none of its products with this OS have exactly taken the world by storm. Still, LG is strong in the featurephone market, and Microsoft can use every licensee it can get as it competes against rivals like BlackBerry and Symbian in the highly-competitive smartphone market. This agreement doesn’t mean LG will exclusively use Windows Mobile on its smartphones, though. The company is a member of the OHA, the group led by Google that’s behind the Android OS, and is supposed to be working on its first model based on this operating system.According to an unconfirmed report, an LG phone running Windows Mobile will soon be released by AT&T.The LG Incite will supposedly sport a 240-by-400-pixel touchscreen, and an all-metal body. This GSM phone’s wireless capabilities are expected to include 3G (3.6 Mbps HSPA), Wi-Fi, and, presumably, Bluetooth.” via brighthand.com
