Droid sales are robust, Samsung favors Android, and Milestone heads to Telus

Last weekend was the first weekend that the Motorola Droid was available to purchase on the Verizon network. Official sales figures are not available, but analysts predict about 100,000 Droids were sold opening weekend.

The boxy Motorola Milestone is certainly not as sexy as the new Droid, but may be more to some users liking. The Milestone is set to hit the Telus network in Europe in early 2010.

Rumors are swirling that Samsung may be looking to drop Windows Mobile in favor of Android. Analysts have Samsung reducing Windows to 50% of their devices in 2010 and by 2012 only 20% of its handsets will use WinMo.
