AT&T Navigator app hits App Store

One of the things that disappointed some iPhone users when the iPhone 3G launched with its GPS support was that the phone lacked a turn-by-turn driving directions feature. There were some apps that addressed that need that eventually came to the App Store.

AT&T has announced that its own AT&T Navigator Application is now available on the App Store for the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The navigator app uses the new features of the 3.0 OS update to bring turn-by-turn driving directions to the iPhone.

Features of the app include real-time traffic alerts, one-touch rerouting, daily gas prices, and listings for more than 10 million businesses. The map content is automatically updated with no need to download anything and the maps are 3D. The route can also be customized with rest stops for food, gas and other needs along their route. Routes can also be planned and set to the iPhone directly from the Navpreplan.com website. The app isn’t cheap; it is a monthly charge App at $9.99 per month with charges coming on the user’s phone bill.
