I am not a huge fan of gambling when you can actually win money, I always seem to lose. I do like to play a poker game that uses dice on my iPhone and have spent my share of time with solitaire and other poker games. If you like casino action on your mobile phone Handmark has announced a new Astraware Casino app that is available for the iPhone. The application features 11 of the most popular casino games from around the world and is compatible with new features in the OS 3.0 update. The game a...

Motorola handset sales down

The global handset market is down in but a few categories like smartphones. Firms that once made the bulk of their profits off more basic handsets are finding that profit can be hard to come by today. Motorola has announced its financials for the last quarter and has posted a profit of $26 million. That’s not bad considering that some mobile companies are posting a loss. The bad news is that the mobile division posted an operating loss of $253 million. Motorola points out that its mobile ...

AT&T will be the title sponsor for the 14th annual MLS All-Star Game and the logo will be placed on the front of the player’s jerseys and in-stadium signs at the event. Applications for mobile phones are a huge business today, and we can thank Apple for ushering in the era of apps. The app store I probably hear the least about, the Nokia Ovi store, has announced a new application is now available. The app is called ShoZu and is available for Symbian devices on the Ovi store today. The app provides two-way interactivity with dozens of different social networking sites. Features include real-time status updates and uploading of high-resolution video and images. ...

CTIA issues statement on texting while driving

One thing I have never understood is how people can reasonably try and text while driving. Many of the people who drive in my area can barely drive while just driving much less while trying to text someone. I saw a teenage girl trying to drive and text while swerving all over the streets of my neighborhood not long ago. Studies claim that texting while driving is as dangerous as driving while intoxicated. Some lawmakers are calling for an outright nationwide ban on driving and texting, but that...

Kyocera is a perfect example, the company makes mobile phones and other consumer electronic devices, and it also makes a line of ceramic products like knives and other items. Kyocera announced its financial results for the quarter ending on June 30, Q1 fiscal 2010 for the company. The company saw consolidated net sales drop 32.1% compared with the same quarter last year and a weakening demand for digi...

Samsung i7500 Galaxy gets its first firmware update

"Considering the specs of the Samsung Galaxy and given Samsung is one of the top mobile manufacturers in the world, it is kind of surprising we haven?t heard more about their first Android Phone. This is probably due to the circles we travel, noting the lack of availability in English speaking lands, but Italian blog HDblog.it is reporting the Samsung Galaxy has a software update available.Oddly enough, the English translation of the original article indicates Samsung hasn?t yet announced the up...
