OtterBox to launch a stylish protective case for new BlackBerry Pearl smartphones

Otter Products introduces its slim-fit ‘OtterBox 1936 case’ to protect the new BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphones. Allowing complete access to the trackball, sync/charge USB port, camera and self-portrait mirror, the OtterBox provides an ideal solution for on-the-go protection with style.

Similar to existing BlackBerry smartphone cases in the OtterBox Defender Series line, the OtterBox 1936 case offers three layers to safeguard the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 and BlackBerry Pearl 8130 from bumps, scratches and drops.

Additionally, three acoustically approved, semi-permeable membrane vents protect the headset and speaker phone openings, while still allowing clear sound transmission. Cases include a holster-style, swivel belt clip for convenient carrying.

Thinkware launched its entry-level 7-inch DMB navigation device ‘iNAVI ES200’ in Korea market.

As a successor model to the ‘iNAVI ES100’, it features a high resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a high performance 500MHz CPU. The ES100 adopts the streamline design applying a two-tone color of red and black.

Users could enjoy the navigation and DMB simultaneously with its Dynamic PIP(picture in picture) functionality, and they could be guided by TPEG, a real time traffic information service. Other features included mp3/video player, photo album and games. By adopting two AV-in inputs, it can be connected with two different multimedia devices like rear camera and PMP at the same time.

Suggested price is 399,000(KRW) for 2GB model and 449,000(KRW) for 4GB.

Nikon to release ‘COOLPIX P60′ powered by two AA batteries

Nikon expects to launch its 8M compact digital camera ‘COOLPIX P60’, which is powered by two AA batteries.

Equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD monitor and a 5X optical zoom lens, the COOLPIX P60 supports up to ISO 2000 and Vibration Reduction(VR) Image Stabilization technology. It comes with a functional body design and a defined hand grip for secure finger placement and easy operation.

It will be available on March 14th in Japan market for 30,000(JPY).

BluebirdSoft expects to present its industrial PDA lineup(BM-350, BIP-5000, BIP-1300, BM-150R, BI-300) at the upcoming CeBIT 2008.

The BM-350 is a high-performance PDA running on Windows Mobile 6.0 while the BIP-5000 is integrated with barcode scanner. The BIP-1300 is an all-in-one mobile payment system, and the BM-150R can be used as consumer PDA. The BI-300 is ultra-slim cordless barcode scanner.

NEC is going to launch its 12.1-inch notebook pc ‘LJ700/LH’ equipped with wireless USB in Japan market.

Running on Windows Vista Home Premium, the LJ700/LH adopts 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo U6700, 2GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and a 12.1-inch display with 1,280 x 800 resolution. With 1.28kg weight, it offers 6.5 hours of battery life.

It is expected to be available in the end February.

Sony expects to launch its full HD TV ‘BRAVIA V1 Series’ with 120Hz MotionFlow technology in Japan market.

Equipped with Bravia Engine, the V1 Series supports 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution and 24p True Cinema for viewing in accurate cinema experience. Adopting two HDMI ports it comes with three different sizes including 52-,46-,40-inch. It is expected to be available on April 25th.

KaonMedia(www.kaonmedia.co.kr) launched a new concept of 4.8-inch PMP ‘UPOP’ in Korea market, which features slide-and-tilt LCD touchscreen with 800 x 480 resolution.

Adopting 61-key pad, the UPOP features electronic dictionary support that has a variety of contents of 46 different kind of dictionary including English and Korean and offers TTS(Text To Speech) function and authentic native-speaker voice on search results.

Equipped with DaVinci chipset for video play back, it supports T-DMB with time-shift function and up to 5 hours of video playing with a detachable battery pack. It also can be used as a portable PVR set-top box.

Sony to release its personal communicator Mylo Com2 in Japan

Sony announced the release of its personal communicator ‘Mylo Com2’ in Japan market, which adopts a 3.5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display and a slide-out back-lit qwerty keyboard.

The Mylo Com2 offers an improved web experience with Adobe Flash Lite 3 support and allows you to upload and download content directly from the web. For communication you will have your choice of AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger and Skype.
Equipped with 1GB of internal memory, it also supports up to 8GB of additional storage via Memory Stick Duo media. There is also a 1.3-megapixel camera and the ability to upload and edit pictures.

For audio you can choose from listening to one of the many online music services and the device will also be able to play AAC, MP3, AATRAC and WMA files. For video the Mylo will be able to handle MPEG4 and MPEG4 baseline or use one of the online services to include Google Video, YouTube or MySpace.

It is expected to be available on March 1st, suggested price 35,000(JPY).

PENTAX to roll out its 14.6M high-end DSLR K20D in Japan

PENTAX plans to roll out its 14.6M high-end DSLR ‘K20D’ in Japan market, which is expected to be available on March 7th.

Equipped with a high-performance 23.4mm x 15.6mm CMOS image sensor and a 2.7-inch 230,000 pixel LCD, the K20D features Live view function and image stabilization technology ‘Shake Reduction’. Supporting up to ISO 6400, it can shoot continuously up to 38 photos.
